All you moms out there (there might be 3 reading this...), is it weird that I still get the urge to nurse my baby sometimes? Rafe has had a few rough nights in the last week or so where I have gone and comforted him multiple times during the night. Every single time, I feel like I should just settle into the rocker and nurse him back to sleep. He hasn't nursed in about 4 months. Does anyone else feel like this ever?

Yep. I quit nursing baby #2 like a week into it due to a trifecta of roadblocks and when people start to get sick, I get a panic attack that she can't have breastmilk. Also, now that she's older and can hold her head up, etc., I keep thinking I should breastfeed her even though I haven't for like four months.
Not weird. I've even attempted nursing one of my babies after they had been weaned (I can remember for how long) to try and console him and he wasn't interested. And that's not the only occasion when I've felt that urge.
And I can't believe I forgot national donut day this year! In the past we've gone to Krispy Kreme where they give you a free donut. Yum!
I've felt the same thing. You know it calmed them down for a year or so of their life, so I think it seems natural after that long to keep wanting to do it when they need to be comforted...especially at night, when everyone's tired!
I haven't experienced that, but I do have the impulse to give P a bink every once in a while. I catch myself looking around for it before realizing there's no such thing.
I love having a Mom community to validate my weirdnesses! You guys are great.
Oh yes- I totally did the other day!
