An Oobleck day

The other day we had a themed day based on "Bartholomew and the Oobleck"
Lydia loved reading the book and making some "Oobleck" of our own.

Liv and Baby Rafe were more interested in playing.

I know! Themed days are our new thing that make me feel like a good Mom.

I got the idea from one of my aunts. We just choose a favorite book to be our theme for the day and do activities based on the book. We don't do it everyday - just once a week or so.

We've done Blueberries for Sal, Make Way for Ducklings, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Bartholemew and the Oobleck, and maybe some others.

So for example, on our Blueberries for Sal day, we read the book, put blueberries in our little tin pails (Target 1$ aisle), ate the blueberries, played follow the leader, and sang a marching song (because somehow all those things made sense to me).
